Horrific Hauntings : A Haunted Washroom
A survey says that an average human spends more than 182 hours on their
toilets but, what if your restroom was haunted?
A Stranger Moves In
The year was 1999 when Arun built his first house. From working in
a tea stall to becoming a landlord, he had grown immensely. His new house had
two floors. He resided on the first floor and rented the second floor. The
second floor had 3 houses with a shared washroom. After a grand housewarming,
Arun rented two of the three houses to two different families. The third house
was a little bit smaller than the second one so he wanted to rent it to a
bachelor.
Soon after the housewarming, a
bachelor named Mayandi approached Arun asking him to rent the third portion of
the house to him. This person looked completely strange with multiple chains of
beads on his neck and stained teeth. Although suspicious, Arun rented him the house
as the person persistently insisted that he was a Shivite (follower of a Hindu
God named Shiva). A week after he moved in, the other tenants started to
complain about an eerie sound coming from Mayandi’s portion at night. Arun thought
that he was worshipping Shiva all night and asked him to reduce the sound of his
prayers as it disturbed the other tenants.
The Stranger Reveals his Identity
One Night, Arun was finding it hard to sleep
and he kept rolling on his bed. When the time was almost 2 a.m. he
noticed that a naked man smeared with ashes walking through his gates. This Man
slowly sneaked into Mayandi’s portion as Arun watched. Arun decided to confront
him and as he walked towards the main door to open it, two other naked men
smeared in ash walked towards his tenant’s house. Within a few minutes after these
men went into Mayandi’s house, unnerving chants started to reverb inside the
property. Scared of confronting this group, Arun decided to deal with it the
next day.
The
very next morning, he called Mayandi and enquired about the things happening in
his portion during the night. The latter said that those strangers were his
friends and they were praying to Lord Shiva during the night. Arun could
clearly sense that he was lying and told him, “Say the truth or vacate my
house”. After beating around the bush for some
time, Mayandi finally confessed that he was not a Shivite but actually a practitioner
of black magic.
In
an aggressive tone, he warned Arun saying that if he questioned him again or
reached out to the police, he would cast a dark spell on him. Arun says that he
went speechless hearing this and felt helpless as Mayandi started doing rituals
more brazenly. The other tenants eventually vacated because of the disturbance
felt by the sounds from his portion and the negative energy they felt in the
house. This disheartened Arun and left him worried.
A Baby Sacrifice
One
day, one of Arun’s friends came rushing to his house saying that his newborn
baby was missing. He asked Arun to accompany him to the police station to lodge
a complaint and literally dragged him out of the house. After taking a couple
of steps, his friend stood still looking at a piece of blanket. “This is
the blanket my baby was wrapped in when it went missing” he told Arun, pointing
at the blanket. Upon hearing this, Arun instinctively felt that Mayandi was
somehow related to it and rushed into Mayandi’s portion. When he broke into the
house, he saw a baby in Mayandi’s lap with Mayandi holding a knife in his
hands.
Mayandi appeared to be in a trance state and
showed superhuman strength when Arun tried to snatch away the baby. After an extreme struggle, Arun snatched the baby from him, gave the baby to his friend
and asked him to reach out to the police. By now, Mayandi was out of his trance
and knowing that he was caught red-handed, he ran out of the house leaving
behind all his things. Arun chased him but it appeared as if he had disappeared.
When
he came back inside, he heard the sound of someone breathing heavily from the
washroom. He locked the door and tried calling the police. While the phone was
ringing, Mayandi started to chant spells which Arun says, hypnotized him. When
he tried to open the door in a hypnotized state, his friend shook him and
bought him back to his senses. He was raged by what happened and set the washroom
along with Mayandi who was inside it, on fire.
The Haunting
After a trial by the police, Arun
was sentenced to 2 years in prison. The house remained uninhabited for the
course of his punishment. After he was released, Arun renovated the house and
decided to rent it again. During the renovation process, he demolished
Mayandi’s portion completely as he felt it gave out negative energy. He rented
the houses to two different families. The very next day after moving in, one of
his tenants complained to him about someone constantly walking around the
washroom at night. She said that she could also sense someone else’s presence
while she was inside the washroom.
Arun thought some burglar was
hiding inside and went into the washroom to check it himself. When he entered,
he sensed the smell of a burning body and as he stood there thinking of what
had happened inside the washroom before, he sensed the breath of someone on his
shoulder. He ran outside in fear and sought the help of a priest he knew. When
he returned back home with the priest on his side, he saw an ambulance near his
gate. When he rushed to see what had happened, he figured out that one of his
tenants had slipped inside the washroom and had her skull cracked. She was
bleeding profusely.
She was admitted to a nearby hospital
and when she gained back consciousness, she complained of a burnt man who hit
her hard on her back which caused her to slip and fall. There was a handprint
on her back which proved that she was not lying. The poor lady as Arun says,
died of a heart attack the very same night.
The priest blessed
the house and told Arun that Mayandi’s spirit was haunting the washroom and
asked him to demolish it.
Arun
obliged and contracted a builder for the task but the crew faced multiple
obstacles. From machines seizing sporadically and workers dying, demolishing it
was not easy. With sustained efforts, the bathroom was successfully demolished
but at the cost of an amputated worker who lost one of his limbs while
demolishing it and a couple of deaths.
The disturbances
vanished after demolition and Arun still lives in the house now.
